Sick

Please disregard the fact that the music is about as awful as awful can get, and appreciate the fact that contests were way better back when they weren't overrun by corporate sponsors and Woodward-trained trick ferrets. Or disagree. That's OK, too.

If you can name all the riders, you're smarter than I am. Heck, if you can name half the riders you're smarter than I am. Of course you should also get out more.

I saw at least one Mike Ocoboc clip in there, and that makes me happy.

sick. most of this stuff happened during the first few years i started really getting into riding. thanks for the throwback.

sooo much gnarly stunts went down at that SJ Ramp Club contest.

What ever happened to "the boy" Mike Ocoboc? He was tearing shit up back in the mid/late 90's... Then he vanished! Chad Herrington and Mike Ocoboc should make a come back.

suicide no hander to slap the bars at the 3:00 mark is one of the best things i've ever seen.

I miss Troy McMurray, too. There will be an entire Troy McMurray post at some point—someone needs to rip his section from S&M 4.

High speed fakie to downside whip/decade on a bike that isn't two inches high?

is it just me or did barspins seem so much more epic and gnarly back then? maybe it's because of the casual grab of the bars after they spin because they are actually pinching their seat and don't need to throw bars mach ten like today.

They used to actually be a trick, not just an add-on.

See :20.

Oops.

I miss the mentality of "If you walk away, you didn't try hard enough" thats the only way to ride

The fact that they're all doing this on bikes that probably weighed 40 pounds makes it sicker

Aaron Frost on London Bikes. Jason Brown's boomerang to hiker was always so rad. Phil Dolan with those retarded bucket hats (not as bad as Kagy being in that with the confederate flag helmet and in a hockey jersey). Pretty sure both Garcia brothers are in that Ramp Club contest footage.

Also the AFL/IFL comp at the abandoned warehouse where they just broke in and set up generators. I wish I could remember who it was with the grey frame and graveyard bars doing the two backwheel links in a theFlatlander.com shirt.

holy shit this stuff is old. they should put Sick and Too Sick online.

These were the kinda comps where Pros would turn up to watch n get drunk even if they wernt riding, just because it was a fun place to hang out with friends. Nowadays it's invite only/wristbands/security stuff, and that sucks.

I have fond memories of that late 90's x-games with the rainbow borders on the ramps.

just think how colorful the bs comps/xgames were back then. bennet and nyquist on yellow frames, the haro jerseys, nyquist's goatee, etc.

man, good stuff...

1. Miron 360 whip in the beginning,
2. McCoy bars to back.
3. The backwards Rolaid clip was super tight - Sean Peters?
4. Troy McMurry with gack-hubs (???)
5. DAMN!!!! Chris Bennett (yellow frame, "trails") and a HUGE superman.
6. Lord and the best 540 ever

curious about the seat-grab superman, but anyway, super good...

box-jumping flatlanders doing it right.

i wanna see Lee Sultimier come back
Also, I know brian castillo still rides, but I would like to see him in a new video rocking the same setup he had in the late 90's- front caliper brake, chrome fork, black frame, his signature chrome bars from s&m or his volume counterpart and four chrome pegs. And he needs to do big fast and I suppose basic (by today's standards) street lines like he used to. no slow tech shit. no tailwhips. hes clearly not built for that. Brian Castillo was fuckin epic.

G.S.: Style Cats. One of the all-time greats. I think most of the sections are on YouTube. Sandy Carson's, Joe Rich's and Keith Gower's are highly recommended. So would Paul Osicka's, if it's up there.

Thanx Russ,i will check the Tube!

I think a "retro" comp setup would be sweet ie The Xgames ramps from 1996. It would be cool to see how "new school" guys would handle putting a run together on those ramps.
