They're too heavy.

You need these: http://www.profileracing.com/news_full.php?id=689

Huh? "New technology"?

I check this blog on the daily. More flatland-related stuff please!

Very shiny, but surely Tioga's hollow Max-Flo would be the obvious choice for all your milliounce-conscious readers.

New technology at its best kids!

How did we not kill ourselves on 1 piece cranks? How?

Also, Todd, if you are reading this today, I got my order. Grimey thanks!

The SR Turbo-X would have been a good choice too.

Oh well, gotta go with the company people have heard of.

I had a pair of those lying around for about 14 years - no joke. I finally sold them to a 24-year-old guy starting out on a Wal Mart bike who had bent his stock one-piece cranks during the first hour at the park.

Other stuff of mine that ended up on his bike: 1" S&M Ditchforks and a Homeless stem. He now rides a new school setup....S-3 (painted purple, of course), slammed seat, etc. At least I started him out right.

Yeah, the SR hollow cranks would be the hot ticket for the kids. I had a set and didn't break them, strangely enough. The only 1 piece cranks I broke were the decent Takagi models. Weird. I guess I'm a pussy.

I've got to say, I'm surprised you didn't do a post on dude's "lower than a Killorado" custom Solid on the front page of the Come Up.

Homeless made stems?

Anonymous said...

you did your part noel.
you can lead a horse to water but you can't force it to drink, haha

on a related note
i never bent one pieces.
everyone i knew did.
i was a lil pussy.
ATM i currently have a twisted profile spindle
movin on up!

I've bent every one piece crank that I have owned to 9:15.

Maybe I'm exaggerating a little, but not much.

I still have that frame somewhere in my garage. Possibly with the cranks in it seeing as I couldn't get the pedals off.

Homeless made the sticker that went on the DK stem!

Anonymous said...

the Homeless stem was made by DK, but not exactly the same as the DK

Russ have you seen the new fbm ad thats up on thecomeup ? Ive got only love for sprfls but the its still pretty hilarious...Oh and adams finally started up the jealousy thing with sprfls, surpise !

Anonymous said...

fucken grandmaison. at least russ has a point when he's a little salty, grandmaison is just elitist

btw, i wonder if one pieces fit spanish. not that anyone would bother, just that the american bb was made to fit one piecers and i wonder if it needed to be so big

the come up is THE worst thing in bmx.

Stephen said...

I find FBM's anti stance a little puzzling, but I guess they are trying to sell bikes, so what better way for a bunch of older dudes to get what they want than to stroke the ego of some kids...

Russ said...

I made fun of FBM for the Maneater name/frame and the Howler on the scale—turnabout is fair play. I'd be pretty fucking hypocritical if I made fun of companies all day (OK, once a day) and then got mad when one struck back.

Blow up your internet, ride a bike.

Russ said...

anonymous 9:03 — That's a good question. I know I have a set of Takagis around here somewhere—unfortunately I don't have a Spanish or Mid frame to try and squeeze them into. I'm guessing—just guessing—Spanish wouldn't work.

do they even make a sealed bearing for a one piece crank? or an unsealed bearing for a mid bottom bracket?

...and heres the after photo.

To Odysseys credit these lasted longer than my Redline Big Block cranks. Maybe thats why i ended up goofy footed i kept having to ride left then right foot foward to "Reset" my cranks haha.

hello Russ have you seen (i think so) this ad on the come up : http://thecomeupbmx.net/post.php?pid=5989
some good reaction in comments

1, 2, 3, 4, I declare a blog war! Jesus, Adam, act your age.

Russ said...

I'm banned from commenting there anyway, even anonymously. God forbid there be any dissent.

Regardless, I didn't know it was a contest? SPRFLS is what it is. I'm not out to take over the world.

Anonymous said...

Hahaha Adam got owned by his own blog!

Anonymous said...

Adam doesn't want people (Russ) "hating" on other people's bike setups. However it seems hating on other people's blogs which are about other people's bike setups is ok....ok then.
I also love how an anon told Adam to go discuss "anal sex with some fourteen year old BMX kids". Which puts the anons abusive comments on SPRFLS to shame.
